Welcome to the second ever Cornwall Schools Science Olympiad (CSSO). This is a free event offered by Cornwall School of Mathematics and Science for teams of 4 Year 10 students from schools in Cornwall. The winning team will receive the Cornwall Schools Science Olympiad shield. Last year’s champions were Penryn College and we are looking forward to seeing who will be victorious this year.

The CSSO will consist of three rounds of competition in the morning including a practical challenge, a theory challenge and an engineering challenge. The results of these rounds will be collated and then the top two teams will go head-to-head in the afternoon in a University Challenge style showdown.

The event will be academically demanding and will stretch the most able students in Year 10 across Cornwall, while providing some fun challenges and experiences.

There are a maximum of 20 spaces for teams, so for now we are limiting schools to one team each. In the event that extra spaces are available, we will allocate them to schools on a first come first serve basis.

To register a team please complete the form below. Please note, only teachers can register a team. Once completed we will be in touch with an event pack.

The deadline for applications is Friday 26 May at 12pm.
